وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : قُطِعَ بِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَحَمَلَنِي عَلَى جَمَلٍ فَمَرَّ بِي وَأَنَا أَضْرِبُهُ فِي آخِرِ النَّاسِ فَضَرَبَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِسَوْطٍ فَمَا زَالَ فِي أَوَائِلِ النَّاسِ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَرُدُّهُ إِلَيْهِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يُصَلِّي سِتَّ رَكَعَاتٍ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I was travelling with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a camel to ride. He (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was the last of the people and was driving it on by beating it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck it with his stick, and it began to go ahead of the people. Then, when we came to Makkah, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), wanting to return it (the camel) to him, and I found that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had at that time offered six rak'ahs.
