Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for rain, he would make this supplication: "O Allah! Give us rain in a manner that is reassuring, through which You quench the wealth (that is, the animals) and the souls (that is, the people); a cloud that satisfies, quenches thirst, is layered, and produces vegetation in the earth, through which the people of our villages and towns are eased. Through it send down the blessings of the sky, and through it bring forth for us the blessings of the earth, and at that time make us among those who give thanks. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Musa bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Harith al-Taymi, and he is da'if (weak).
