Majma al-Zawaid 3136 — I heard Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani
عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ يُقِيمُ وَهُوَ يَسْتَخْبِرُ النَّاسَ يَسْأَلُهُمْ عَنْ أَخْبَارِهِمْ وَأَسْعَارِهِمْ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Musa bin Talhah narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was on the pulpit and the mu'adhdhin was calling the iqamah; Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) was seeking news from the people, asking them about their affairs and their prices.
