عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَيَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَإِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَامَ فَخَطَبَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَابْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ وَالْبُخَارِيُّ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَابْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ وَالْبُخَارِيُّ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver the sermon from the pulpit on Friday, on the day of Eid al-Fitr and on the day of Eid al-Adha. On Friday, when the mu'adhdhin (caller to prayer) fell silent, he would stand up and deliver the sermon.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Husayn bin Abdullah bin Ubaydullah bin Abbas, whom Ahmad, Ali bin al-Madini, Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) declared da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
