Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Friday, in the Fajr prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Alif Lam Mim Tanzil al-Sajdah in the first rak'ah and Surah al-Dahr in the second rak'ah.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Hafs bin Sulayman al-Ghadiri, who is matruk (abandoned). No one declared him trustworthy, except that according to one report Ahmad bin Hanbal declared him trustworthy, while according to two reports Ahmad declared him da'if (weak), and a great many people declared him da'if (weak).
