بَابُ التَّشَهُّدِ وَالْجُلُوسِ وَالْإِشَارَةِ بِالْإِصْبَعِ فِيهِ .

وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ يَتَشَهَّدُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ : قُلْنَا : تَحْفَظُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَمَا تَحْفَظُ حُرُوفَ الْقُرْآنِ الْوَاوَاتِ وَالْأَلِفَاتِ إِذَا جَلَسَ عَلَى وِرْكِهِ الْيُسْرَى .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ هَكَذَا .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite the tashahhud in the prayer. The narrator says: We asked: "Do you remember the words of the tashahhud from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) just as you remember the letters of the Qur'an, with all their waws and alifs?" When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sat on his left side, he used to recite this.
