Majma al-Zawaid 2794 — The manner of the prayer and the takbir in it

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The first one to reduce the takbir was al-Walid bin Uqbah. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "They have reduced it; may Allah Almighty reduce them! For I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying the takbir every time he bowed, every time he prostrated and every time he rose."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Thuwayr bin Abi Fakhitah, who is da'if (weak).
