وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُذِنَ لِي أَنْ أُحَدِّثَ عَنْ مَلَكٍ مِنْ مَلَائِكَةِ اللَّهِ مِنْ حَمَلَةِ الْعَرْشِ ، مَا بَيْنَ شَحْمَةِ أُذُنِهِ إِلَى عَاتِقِهِ مَسِيرَةُ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا " . قُلْتُ : رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ خَلَا قَوْلَهُ : سَبْعِينَ عَامًا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been permitted to speak about one of the angels of Allah Almighty who carry the Throne: between his earlobe and his shoulder is a distance of seventy years' journey."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud also recorded this narration, but he did not record the words "70 years". Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
