عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَبِيتُ فَيُنَادِيهِ بِلَالٌ بِالْأَذَانِ فَيَقُومُ فَيَغْتَسِلُ فَإِنِّي لِأَرَى الْمَاءَ يَنْحَدِرُ عَلَى خَدِّهِ وَشَعْرِهِ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فَيُصَلِّي فَأَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَهُ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spent the night; Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) called him with the adhan, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) got up and took a ritual bath (ghusl). I saw drops of water running down the cheeks and hair of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he went out and prayed, and I heard the sound of his weeping. After this the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.
