Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): When any of you stands to pray, he should prepare the place of his prostration; he should not leave it as it is, so that when he bends down to prostrate he first blows and then prostrates. For a man to prostrate on a live coal is better for him than to prostrate on a spot where he has first blown."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abd al-Mun'im bin Bashir, who is munkar al-hadith (his narrations are denounced).
