Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Offering prayer in the Jami' mosque is equal to the obligatory one (the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant: a Hajj mabrur (accepted Hajj)), and offering voluntary prayer (in the Jami' mosque) is like an accepted Hajj. Prayer in the Jami' mosque has been given five hundred times more virtue than prayer in other mosques."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Nuh bin Dhakwan, whom Abu Hatim declared da'if (weak).
