وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ رِجَالٌ مِمَّنْ حَوْلَ الْمَسْجِدِ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ فِي الْجَمِيعِ أَوْ لَأُحَرِّقَنَّ حَوْلَ بُيُوتِهِمْ بِحُزَمِ الْحَطَبِ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا قَوْلَهُ : " مِمَّنْ حَوْلَ الْمَسْجِدِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا قَوْلَهُ : " مِمَّنْ حَوْلَ الْمَسْجِدِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Those people living around the mosque who do not attend the Isha prayer in congregation will either desist from this, or I will set fire around their houses with bundles of firewood." I say: This narration is reported in the Sahih, but without these words: "of those who live around the mosque."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy (muwaththaqun).
