عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " نِيَّةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ ، وَعَمَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ نِيَّتِهِ ، وَكُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ عَلَى نِيَّتِهِ ، فَإِذَا عَمِلَ الْمُؤْمِنُ عَمَلًا ثَارَ فِي قَلْبِهِ نُورٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ ، إِلَّا حَاتِمَ بْنَ عِبَّادِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْجُرَشِيُّ ، لَمْ أَرَ مَنْ ذَكَرَ لَهُ تَرْجَمَةً .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ ، إِلَّا حَاتِمَ بْنَ عِبَّادِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْجُرَشِيُّ ، لَمْ أَرَ مَنْ ذَكَرَ لَهُ تَرْجَمَةً .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The intention of a believer is better than his deed, and the deed of a hypocrite is better than his intention. Everyone acts according to his intention, but when a believer does a deed, light spreads in his heart."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy, except Hatim bin Abbad bin Dinar al-Jurashi; I have not seen anyone give an account of him.
