Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty have mercy on a servant who has wronged a brother of his in respect of life or property, and then goes to his brother and seeks his pardon before the Day of Resurrection, for on the Day of Resurrection there will be no dinar or dirham; there will only be good deeds." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! What if he has no good deeds?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then the other person's sins will be taken and added to his sins."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Hashim bin Isa al-Yazani, whom I do not know; the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy, although there is weakness in some of them.
