Sayyiduna Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty will hold a debtor (that is, one who owes some payment) for the other, as severely as anything can be held. He will say: 'O Lord! How can I give him anything when You have resurrected me naked and barefoot? So how can payment be made?' Allah Almighty will say: 'We will give these people your good deeds.' (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:) Then his good deeds will be given to the people; if they suffice, well and good; otherwise the people's sins will be taken and added to his sins."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Hammad bin Shu'ayb, who is extremely da'if (weak).
