Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah) with sincerity will enter Paradise." It was asked: "What is meant by its sincerity?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(What is meant by its sincerity) is that this word keeps that person away from the things Allah Almighty has made forbidden."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, but in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir his wording is: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is meant by its sincerity is that this word keeps that person away from (committing) the things that Allah Almighty has made forbidden for him."
Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Abd al-Rahman bin Ghazwan, who is a fabricator (wadda').
