Majma al-Zawaid 17303 — How to send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ
عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ : قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَدْ عَلِمْنَا كَيْفَ نُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْكَ ، فَكَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : " قُولُوا : اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِكَ ، وَرَحْمَتَكَ ، وَبَرَكَاتِكَ ، عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا جَعَلْتَهَا عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْأَعْمَى ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We said: O Messenger of Allah! We have come to know how we should send salam upon you; so (now tell us) how should we send blessings upon you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite this: "O Allah, send down Your blessings, Your mercy and Your favours upon Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and upon the family of Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), just as You sent them down upon the family of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Abu Dawud al-A'ma (the blind), who is da'if (weak).
