Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When any one of you wishes to supplicate, he should first praise and extol Allah Almighty as befits His majesty, then send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then supplicate, for then it is more likely to succeed (that is, to be accepted).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Abu Ubaydah did not hear from his father (that is, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him)).
