Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "O my cousin, the housework and grinding with the hand-mill have become hard for me, so speak to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about this." He said: "Very well." The next day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them while they were both asleep under a quilt. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his feet between the two of them (i.e. he also put his feet under the quilt). Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Prophet of Allah, the housework is a hardship for me, so if you were to order a servant for me from what Allah Almighty has granted you as fay' (spoils gained without fighting), (that would be fitting)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not teach you something that is better for you than that? Recite 'Subhan Allah' 33 times, 'Alhamdu lillah' 33 times and 'Allahu akbar' 34 times. On the tongue these will be 100, and in the Scale they will be 1000. The reason is that Allah Almighty has said: 'Whoever brings a good deed will have ten times its like (in reward).' (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: he will have from ten times its like) up to a hundred thousand times (in reward)."

This report is mentioned in the "Sahih" in abridged form.
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, al-Harith al-A'war, who is da'if (weak).
