Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the days of winter, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer the Zuhr prayer at such a time that we could not tell whether more of the day had passed or more remained. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: A hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) is recorded by Abu Dawud, in which it is mentioned that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to set off during a journey, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer this prayer early.
Ahmad recorded it as a report narrated by Musa Abu al-Ala', and I have not found anyone who gives his biography.
