Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17004

Abu Sallam narrates: A man passed through the mosque of Hims, and the people said that he was a servant of the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The narrator says: I got up and went to him and said: "Narrate to me a hadith that you heard directly from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself, with no other intermediary between you and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim servant who recites these words three times in the morning and in the evening:
'Raditu billahi rabban, wa bil-Islami dinan, wa bi-Muhammadin (peace and blessings be upon him) nabiyyan'
"I am pleased with Allah Almighty as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as Prophet (that is, I believe in them)."
then it is binding upon Allah Almighty to make that person pleased on the Day of Resurrection."
Ahmad recorded it, and he mentioned the name of the servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as "Sabiq".
Al-Tabarani recorded something similar, except that he said: this narration is transmitted from Sayyiduna Abu Sallam (may Allah be pleased with him), the servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Imam al-Mizzi says: The first statement is correct. The narrators of Ahmad and al-Tabarani are thiqat (trustworthy).
