وَعَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَقُودُ مَوْلَايَ قَيْسَ بْنَ السَّائِبِ فَيَقُولُ : أَدَلَكَتِ الشَّمْسُ ؟ فَإِذَا قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَيَقُولُ : هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَفْعَلُ ، وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ بَيْضَاءُ [ حَيَّةٌ ] ، وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ وَالصَّائِمُ يَتَمَارَى أَنْ يُفْطِرَ ، وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُصَلِّي الْفَجْرَ حِينَ يَتَغَشَّى النُّورُ السَّمَاءَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ هَكَذَا وَفِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَزَادَ : وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْعِشَاءَ . وَفِيهِ مُسْلِمٌ الْمُلَائِيُّ ، رَوَى عَنْهُ شُعْبَةُ وَسُفْيَانُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ بَقِيَّةُ النَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ وَابْنُ مَعِينٍ وَجَمَاعَةٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ هَكَذَا وَفِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَزَادَ : وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْعِشَاءَ . وَفِيهِ مُسْلِمٌ الْمُلَائِيُّ ، رَوَى عَنْهُ شُعْبَةُ وَسُفْيَانُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ بَقِيَّةُ النَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ وَابْنُ مَعِينٍ وَجَمَاعَةٌ .
Mujahid narrates: I was leading the riding animal of my master, Sayyiduna Qays bin al-Sa'ib (may Allah be pleased with him). He asked: Has the sun passed its zenith? When I replied: Yes!, he offered the Zuhr prayer, and said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also used to do the same. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer the Asr prayer when the sun was bright and shining; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer the Maghrib prayer at the time when a fasting person would be in doubt whether the time to break his fast had come; and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer the morning prayer when the light covered the sky. Al-Tabarani recorded it in this way in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, but in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat he recorded these additional words: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer the Isha prayer late."
