A man from the tribe of Abd al-Qays, named Sayyiduna Iyad (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "It is binding upon you to keep remembering your Lord, and offer the prayer at the beginning of its time; Allah Almighty will grant you double reward for it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Nahhas bin Qahm, who is da'if (weak). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Hadiths will come later about the one who delays the prayer beyond its appointed time, if Allah wills.
