وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَوْ كَانَ الدِّينُ مُعَلَّقًا بِالثُّرَيَّا لَتَنَاوَلَهُ رِجَالٌ مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ فَارِسَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ اللَّخْمِيُّ ، وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If the religion were hanging from the star of the Pleiades, some men from the sons of Persia would attain it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin al-Hajjaj al-Lakhmi, and he is a kadhdhab (liar).
