Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16686

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If knowledge were at the Pleiades (al-Thurayya, a star cluster), some people from the inhabitants of Persia would attain it."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This report is mentioned in the Sahih, but without the word "knowledge."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Shahr, whom Ahmad declared thiqah (trustworthy), and there is a difference of opinion about him; the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
