وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَحِبُّوا الْعَرَبَ لِثَلَاثٍ : لِأَنِّي عَرَبِيٌّ ، وَالْقُرْآنَ عَرَبِيٌّ ، وَكَلَامَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ عَرَبِيٌّ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " وَلِسَانَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ عَرَبِيٌّ " . وَفِيهِ الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْحَنَفِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مُجْمَعٌ عَلَى ضَعْفِهِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Love the Arabs for three reasons: because I am an Arab, the Qur'an is Arabic, and the speech of the people of Paradise will be Arabic."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, but he recorded these words: "The language of the people of Paradise will be Arabic." The chain of this report contains al-Ala' bin Amr al-Hanafi, and there is agreement on his being da'if (weak).
