Abd al-Rahman bin Ka'b bin Malik, whose father was one of the three people whose repentance was accepted, narrates from one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon. He praised and extolled Allah Almighty, prayed for forgiveness for the martyrs of the Battle of Uhud, and then said: "O company of the Muhajirun! You will keep increasing, while the Ansar will not increase. The Ansar are my special companions, in whose shelter I took refuge; so honour the honourable among them and overlook the wrongdoer among them, for they have fulfilled what was due from them, and what is due to them now remains."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
