Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16471

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, this tribe of the Ansar is a mihnah (that is, a test): loving them is faith, and hating them is hypocrisy."
Imam Ahmad, Imam al-Tabarani and Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration. Among the narrators of Imam Ahmad there is a narrator who is not named, and the other two dropped him; the remaining narrators of Imam Ahmad are thiqat (trustworthy).
