بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ وَغَيْرِهِمْ ذَكَرَ لَهُمْ أَسْمَاءَهُمْ ، أَوْ وَفَيَاتِهِمْ ، أَوْ أَنْسَابَهُمْ .

وَعَنِ الْأَصْمَعِيِّ قَالَ : أَبُو أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ : صُدَيُّ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ مِنْ حَيٍّ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ : بَنُو سَهْمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو بَطْنٌ مِنْ بَنِي قَبِيلَةَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ إِلَى الْأَصْمَعِيِّ ثِقَاتٌ .

Al-Asma'i said: Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili, Sudayy bin Ajlan (may Allah be pleased with him), belongs to a tribe called Banu Sahm bin Amr, and this is a branch of Banu Qabilah.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators up to al-Asma'i are thiqat (trustworthy).
