عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ ثُمَامَةَ بْنَ أَثَالٍ أَسْلَمَ ، فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنْ يَنْطَلِقَ إِلَى حَائِطِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فَيَغْتَسِلُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " قَدْ حَسُنَ إِسْلَامُ صَاحِبِكُمْ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ قَوْلِهِ : " قَدْ حَسُنَ إِسْلَامُ صَاحِبِكُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْعُمَرِيُّ وَفِيهِ خِلَافٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ قَوْلِهِ : " قَدْ حَسُنَ إِسْلَامُ صَاحِبِكُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْعُمَرِيُّ وَفِيهِ خِلَافٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Thumamah bin Uthal (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to go to the orchard of Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) and take a ritual bath there. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your companion's Islam has become excellent."
(Allamah Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is in the Sahih, but without these words: "Your companion's Islam has become excellent."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah al-Umari, about whom there is disagreement, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
