Sayyiduna Fayruz (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Those people accepted Islam, and Sayyiduna Fayruz (may Allah be pleased with him) was among those who accepted Islam. Then they sent their delegation to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with their pledge of allegiance and their Islam, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted this from them. They said: O Messenger of Allah, as you know, we have come from the place you know about, and we have accepted Islam; so who will be our protector (wali)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah and His Messenger. They said: That is sufficient for us, and we are pleased with it.
Ahmad, Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abdullah bin Fayruz, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
