Sayyiduna Abu Atiyyah al-Bakri (may Allah be pleased with him), who belonged to Bakr bin Wa'il, narrates: My family took me to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); I was a young boy. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over my head. The narrator states: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him), and the hair of his head and beard was black, even though his age had reached about one hundred years.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Muhammad bin Uqbah al-Sadusi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and more than one person declared da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
