عَنْ أَبِي نُحَيْلَةَ - رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : أَنَّهُ رُمِيَ بِسَهْمٍ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : انْزِعْهُ ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ أَنْقِصْ مِنَ الْوَجَعِ وَلَا تُنْقِصْ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : ادْعُ ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ ، وَاجْعَلْ أُمِّي مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

It is reported from Sayyiduna Abu Nuhaylah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he was struck by an arrow. It was said to him: "Pull it out." He said: "O Allah! Lessen the pain, but do not lessen the reward." It was said to him: "Make a supplication." So he said: "O Allah! Include me among those brought near, and include my mother among the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise (al-hur al-'in)."
