وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ مُخْتَصَرَةٍ قَالَ : فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - : لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَدَاوَةً لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا حَتَّى بَلَغَ : تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ . فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " يَا سَلْمَانُ ، إِنَّ أَصْحَابَكَ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ سَلَامَةَ الْعِجْلِيِّ ، وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ .

In an abridged narration there are these words: The narrator states: Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "You will surely find the most intense of people in enmity towards the believers to be the Jews and those who associated partners (with Allah)." This verse continues up to: "overflowing with tears." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for me and said: "O Salman, those companions of yours are the ones whom Allah Almighty has mentioned."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Salamah al-Ijli, and Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
