عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ : مَا كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ بِأَقْدَمَ هِجْرَةً مِنْ أَخِيهِ عُتْبَةَ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ مَاتَ قَبْلَهُ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ مُرْسَلًا ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Al-Zuhri said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) did not emigrate before his brother Sayyiduna Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him), but he passed away before him.
