Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Since I accepted Islam I have never told a lie, except for one instance of misstatement. I used to saddle the camel for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A man from Ta'if came and asked me: Which way of saddling does the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) like? I replied: al-Ta'ifiyyah al-munkabbah, although the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked it. When it was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who saddled this? The people said: The one who saddles for you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tell Ibn Umm Abd to do the saddling. So the duty of saddling was given back to me.
Imam al-Tabarani and Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration, and its chain is da'if (weak).
