وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ : أَنَّهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَدْعُو ، وَمَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَلَمَّا حَاذَى ِبهِ سَمِعَ دُعَاءَهُ وَهُوَ لَا يَعْرِفُهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "سَلْ تُعْطَهُ" فَرَجَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : الدُّعَاءُ الَّذِي دَعَوْتَ بِهِ مَا هُوَ ؟ قَالَ: حَمِدْتُ اللَّهَ وَمَجَّدْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ قُلْتُ : اللَّهُمَّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، وَعْدُكَ حَقٌّ ، وَلِقَاؤُكَ حُقٌّ ، وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ ، وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ ، وَرُسُلُكَ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حَقٌّ .
قُلْتُ: رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ بِاخْتِصَارٍ.
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانِ وَهُمَا ثِقَتَانِ .
قُلْتُ: رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ بِاخْتِصَارٍ.
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانِ وَهُمَا ثِقَتَانِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once he was in the mosque when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by; Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) was supplicating at the time. With the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by him, he heard the supplication of Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he did not recognize him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ask, and it will be given to you! Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) went back to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked: What was the supplication you were making? Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I praised Allah Almighty and glorified Him, then I said: "O Allah, there is no god but You. Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Paradise is true, Hell is true, Your Messengers are true, the Prophets are true, and Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is true."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Imam al-Tirmidhi and others recorded this narration in abridged form. Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Hanbal and Sa'id bin al-Rabi' al-Samman, and both of them are thiqat (trustworthy).
