عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَصُفُّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، وَعُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ ، وَكَثِيرًا بَنِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، وَيَقُولُ : " مَنْ سَبَقَ إِلَيَّ فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا " . فَيَسْتَبِقُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَيَقَعُونَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ وَصَدْرِهِ ، فَيَلْتَزِمُهُمْ وَيُقَبِّلُهُمْ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .
Abdullah bin al-Harith narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would line up the sons of Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Kathir (may Allah be pleased with him), and then say: Whoever reaches me first will get such-and-such. The children would race towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and fall upon the back and chest of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would hug them and kiss them.
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its chain is hasan (good).
