وَعَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ : تُوُفِّيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ ، وَسِنُّهُ ثِنْتَانِ وَسَبْعُونَ سَنَةً ، وَكَانَ يُصَفِّرُ لِحْيَتَهُ . قَالَ : وُلِدْتُ قَبْلَ الْهِجْرَةِ بِثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ وَنَحْنُ فِي الشِّعْبِ ، وَتُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَنَا ابْنُ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ مُنْقَطِعٌ .
Yahya bin Bukayr narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) passed away in 68 AH at the age of 72; he used to dye his beard yellow. He narrates: I was born three years before the Hijrah, when we were in the Shi'b of Abu Talib, and when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away I was 13 years old.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration, and its chain is munqati' (broken).
