Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15188

Yazid bin Abi Ziyad says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out of the house of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and passed by the house of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). He heard Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) crying, and said: Do you not know that his crying hurts me?
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration, and its chain is munqati' (broken). Before this, a long hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) has already passed, which mentions the prohibition of making him cry and mentions the news of the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him); and in the chapter on the pledge of allegiance, the narration about his pledge has already passed.
