Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Humayd al-Jahmi, who is from the descendants of Sayyiduna Abu Jahm bin Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), recited these verses about the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), and said: These verses are by Sayyidah Zaynab bint Aqil bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with them both): "What will you say when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asks you: You are the last nation, so what did you do with my family, my helpers and my offspring? Some of them were taken captive and some were killed and drenched in blood. Is this my reward for the good counsel I gave you, that after me you treat my relatives in this way?" Abu al-Aswad al-Du'ali said: We say (Allah Almighty says): "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration with a munqati' (broken) chain.
