Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Since the passing of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) I had never heard the wailing of the jinn. One night it happened, and I realised that my son had died. By this Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) meant Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to her slave-girl: Go and ask about this. She was then told that Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) had been martyred. There, a jinn recited these verses while wailing: "Beware! O eye, weep abundantly! And who will weep over the martyrs after me? Over those whom fate led into the jaws of death under the rule of a slave."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration. Its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Thabit bin Hurmuz, who is da'if (weak).
