Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most compassionate of my Ummah towards my Ummah is Abu Bakr; the sternest of them in matters of Islam is Umar; the most truthful of them in modesty is Uthman bin Affan; the most capable of giving judgement is Ali; the greatest scholar of inheritance is Zayd bin Thabit; the most knowledgeable about what is lawful and unlawful is Mu'adh bin Jabal; the greatest scholar of the Qur'an is Ubayy bin Ka'b; and every Ummah has a trustee, and the trustee of this Ummah is Abu Ubaydah."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Abd al-Rahman bin al-Baylamani, and he is da'if (weak).
