Yahya bin Bukayr narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away in the plague of Amwas in 18 AH at the age of fifty-eight. He had the honour of taking part in the Battle of Badr, at which time he was forty-one years old. According to one report, Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) led his funeral prayer.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration.
