عَنْ سَعْدٍ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ - أَنَّهُ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَنْ أَنَا ؟ قَالَ : " سَعْدُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ أُهَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ [ بُو زُهْرَةَ ] ، مَنْ قَالَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَالْبَزَّارُ مُسْنَدًا وَمُرْسَلًا ، وَرِجَالُ الْمُسْنَدِ وُثِّقُوا .

It is reported about Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Who am I?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sa'd bin Malik bin Uhayb bin Abd Manaf bin Zuhrah. Whoever says otherwise, upon him is the curse of Allah."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded it (both) with a connected chain (musnad) and as mursal. The narrators of the connected chain have been declared trustworthy.
