Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 14364

Ibn Abi Hazim narrates: A man came to Sayyiduna Ali bin al-Husayn (that is, Imam Zayn al-Abidin) and asked: "What was the position of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said: "The same position that the two of them have now."
Abdullah recorded it. I do not know the narrator Ibn Abi Hazim, and Abdullah's teacher is thiqah (trustworthy).
