Book of the Signs of Prophethood
بَابٌ فِيمَنْ أَخْبَرَ بِنُبُوَّتِهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Those who foretold the prophethood of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ عِنْدِهِ : عَنْ سَوَادِ بْنِ قَارِبٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ قَالَ : كُنْتُ نَائِمًا عَلَى جَبَلٍ مِنْ جِبَالِ السَّوَاةِ فَأَتَانِي آتٍ فَضَرَبَنِي بِرِجْلِهِ ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ : أَتَيْتُ مَكَّةَ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَدْ ظَهَرَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ الْخَبَرَ وَاتَّبَعْتُهُ .
وَكِلَا الْإِسْنَادَيْنِ ضَعِيفٌ .
وَكِلَا الْإِسْنَادَيْنِ ضَعِيفٌ .
In a narration he recorded, the wording is: Sayyiduna Sawad bin Qarib al-Azdi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once I was asleep on one of the mountains of al-Sawah, and meanwhile someone came to me and struck me with his foot. In this narration it also says: I came to Makkah and found that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had appeared; I told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this and followed him (peace and blessings be upon him). The chains of both these narrations are da'if (weak).
