Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13900

Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I set out in search of religion, and I reached some monks, the remnants of the People of the Book. Allah Almighty has said: "They recognise that Prophet just as they recognise their own sons." The monks used to say that the time for the sending of that Prophet had come, who would appear in the land of the Arabs; he had particular signs, one of which was the Seal of Prophethood, which would be like a large mole between his two shoulders. So I came to the land of the Arabs, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appeared. I saw all the things they had described, and I also saw the Seal of Prophethood, so I bore witness that there is no god but Allah and that Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah. After this the narrator mentioned the whole hadith.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The remaining hadiths of Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) will come later in the chapter on his virtues.
