Abu Sakhr al-Uqayli narrates: A Bedouin told me: I took milk to Madinah; this was in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When I had finished selling it, I thought: "I should meet that gentleman and I should hear what he says." Then I came face to face with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); he was walking between Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). I followed behind them. They came to a man from among the Jews who had opened the Torah and was reading it, and he was reading it at the bedside of his son, who (the boy) was close to death. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I ask you by that Allah who sent down the Torah: do you find in your Book my description and anything about my being sent?" He gestured with his head like this: that is, no! Then his son (who was on the point of death) said: "By the One who sent down the Torah! We find in our books your description and mention of your being sent, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah." (Then that boy passed away.) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take your brother from the Jews!" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arranged for his shrouding and burial, applied perfume to him and led his funeral prayer.
Ahmad recorded it; I do not know the narrator named Abu Sakhr, and the rest of the narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
