بَابُ قِدَمِ نُبُوَّتِهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

عَنِ الْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنِّي عِنْدَ اللَّهِ لَخَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ وَإِنَّ آدَمَ لَمُنْجَدِلٍ فِي طِينَتِهِ ، وَسَأُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَوَّلِ ذَلِكَ : أَنَا دَعْوَةُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَبُشْرَى عِيسَى ، وَرُؤْيَا أُمِّي الَّتِي رَأَتْ ، وَكَذَلِكَ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَرَيْنَ "
Sayyiduna al-Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "With Allah Almighty I am the Seal of the Prophets, while Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) was at that time still kneaded in his clay. And I will tell you about the very first of it: I am (the result of) the supplication of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him), the glad tidings given by Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him), and (the result of) the dreams that my mother saw. The mothers of the prophets see dreams like this."
